Fight for Your Driver's License

Facing a drunk driving charge can be one of the most difficult, especially if it is your first time being arrested. As with many DUI cases, a person is unsure of how to appropriately handle the situation. As an experienced criminal defense law firm, my office urges you to come to us as soon as possible to learn your rights and the proper steps to take.

After being arrested for DUI, you will have fifteen (15) days to talk to a Scottsdale criminal defense attorney and schedule an administrative hearing at your Department of Motor Vehicles. This hearing will be entirely separate from the criminal case, but equally important. Without legal counsel during this time, you will most likely face a mandatory license suspension set by the DMV. At this hearing, the review panel will look at results of blood, breath or urine samples taken at the time of your arrest, or the refusal to take the tests. Refusal to take these tests may result in a suspension of a driver's license as well.

As decided by the review panel and dependent upon the circumstances of your arrest, you may be facing a suspension anywhere from 90 days to 2 years if you choose to go into your DMV hearing without a DUI defense attorney.
